Traxxas X-Maxx ESC Recall

Anyone interested in the X-Maxx has seen the posts on message boards about them catching on fire. This is not hyperbole; it's actually been happening, and Traxxas is doing something about it. They are working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall any X-Maxx speed control sold between November 19th, 2015 and January 19th, 2016. Traxxas has identified a "fusible link" that caused the problems, and a replacement to solve the problem. No official recall has been announced, but will most likely be revealed soon.

If you own a Traxxas X-Maxx, head over to Traxxas' recall page and enter in the serial number for your speed control. From there you can decide if you want to tackle the repair yourself, or send the ESC to Traxxas to have them do it for you. We cannot obtain these items for you; you have to talk directly to Traxxas.

We'll post updates if anything changes.

Recall: Hobbyzone Super Cub S Charger

Horizon recently announced the recall of the charger and power supply from the Hobbyzone Super Cub S RTF and BNF. Apparently, there is a possibility that the combo could damage products and/or start fires. The effected items are only found in the Super Cub and not any other airplane by Hobbyzone or Parkzone.

If you own a Super Cub S (the version with SAFE technology), please stop using the charger and power supply, go here and fill out the form, and wait for Horizon to send you an email containing a pre-paid shipping label. Please do not bring the items back to the store, as we cannot replace the items for you.

For more information, please see Horizon's offical statement: Product Recall: 3S Li-Po DC Balance Charger and Power Supply.
