Yesterday, a fire destroyed a large part of Woodland Scenics. It took over 100 firefighters and a dozen fire departments to battle the blaze. There is no word yet as to the cause of said fire, but it reduced to ashes about one-third of the company's Linn Creek complex. Woodland Scenics does plan to open the undamaged parts of the plant back up today.
While no one was injured, the effect on the town will be devastating. Woodland Scenics is the largest employer in the small town of only 280 residents, employing around 150 of them. The company does plan to rebuild, but it will be a long time before that rebuild is complete. You can read further at KY3 News.
